Y'ALL! When I tell you this is some of the best food I've ever had, I'm not exaggerating! The jerk ribs were so tender and flavored to perfection. I got the macaroni and cheese, cabbage, and cornbread. They paired so well and "tasted like heaven". The portion size was pretty good for the price too. On top of the great food, the customer service was phenomenal! We encountered a fun bunch who didn't mind being on camera and they honestly felt like extended family. As if it needs to be said, go check this place out. You won't be disappointed!

The name is fitting. The staff is sweet. The wait is a little long but I can see why. They deserve more than 5 stars for the food.

First time getting soul food in a while and it doesn't disappoint. For 15$, you get a generous serving of your protein choice and 2 sides + cornbread. I got the Jerk Chicken but no matter what protein you get it comes right off the bone with a gentle touch. The meat is tender, juicy, and seasoned with plenty of delicious jerk seasoning. The candied yams is a must get. I've never had yams so sweet. They also make a great compliment for the juicy protein. You know it's good when the next table over comes by to complain that the candied yams were out when they went. The mac and cheese comes with pepper seasoning for a bit of a punch. Each order also comes with cornbread. As generic as it sounds, this meal was truly made with love. The cashier and the people working in the kitchen were some of the nicest and happiest people there. They were so happy serving you the food, felt like they were the ones eating it. They even came out after we finished to ask how our meal was and take our trash. The location is a bit far from manhattan unfortunately but is definitely worth a visit anytime you are in Williamsburg.

I went to get a takeout order and was looking for Oxtail, but they only do it on Friday, so I got Ribs with string beans and yellow rice instead. They told me every Friday will be a long line outside and oxtail goes fast and only do delivery on Doordash. I ordered ahead and finally was able to get Oxtail. Both were delicious but turn out to be Ribs that I like the most. I feel that their food is home style cooking so everyone is like a family and very friendly.

Overall rating: 4.4 Of course I heard of this place through Keith Lee.. I went on a Saturday at 4 & everything was sold out. I wasn't a fan that they wait to tell you this news until you're inside (already in line) and at the counter. They should consider having a sign outside. The location was in East Williamsburg which is a chill area. So I was surprised they had a "security guard/ bouncer" indicating when you can come into the room. The process was very confusing and I didn't know even with his guidance on when it was my turn. It would be great if they clear signs in general on what was happening. Definitely felt out of place. The food that was available was good! The Mac and cheese and fried chicken was good. And they do tell you how long to wait for the other items. I liked the food, but the service and experience was a bit of a turnoff for me. I live in deep Brooklyn and not sure if it's worth the commute for me.

Taste of Heaven truly was a slice of heaven! The hubby and I stopped here early afternoon on 5/25/2024 (a Saturday). We got two small plates, one with Jack Daniel's ribs, collard greens and rice and peas. We also got the regular turkey wings, mac and cheese and green beans. Lastly, both items came with cornbread and we got a side of potato salad too. The food was very good, the Jack Daniel's ribs and the cornbread were the standouts, they were superior. The rice and beans were also very good. The green beans needed more seasoning and the potato salad was a miss for me. The other miss for me was the number of items they were out of by early afternoon, the hubby and I went here a bit early just to make sure we had the full menu available to us, so it's disappointing that they stop making items so early. We will definitely be back, but I guess next time we will come closer to opening time.

Decent Caribbean/soul food in a area not frequented often. Guess we came somewhat late (6pm) so not too many mains were available. Wasn't huge on the jerk chicken (wasn't as tender as expected, and flavors didn't penetrate the meat too well). Jack Daniels turkey wing was superb (just expected more than one for the large plate). Sauce was unlike anything I've had, slightly sweet and tangy without being too overpowering. As for the sides, from best to worse - macaroni salad, potato salad, collard greens, Mac and cheese (did not like this).

A Taste of Heaven truly lives up to its name, offering not just heavenly food but also an unparalleled dining experience. From the moment I stepped in, the customer service was exceptional, radiating warmth and hospitality that immediately put me at ease. The owner's energy was infectious, and it was evident that they were genuinely passionate about their craft and their customers. Despite not having some of the items my son desired for his pre-birthday meal, the owner went above and beyond to ensure his satisfaction. Not only did they personally attend to us, but they also insisted on re-cooking his desired dishes and generously offered them to us free of charge. This level of care and dedication is rare to find and truly made our visit memorable. Now, onto the food - I ordered the shrimp and fish, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Each bite was bursting with flavor, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. It was evident that only the freshest ingredients were used, and the attention to detail in every dish was commendable. It's been a long time since I've had seafood this good, and it certainly won't be the last time I visit A Taste of Heaven. A Taste of Heaven is not just a restaurant; it's an experience. From the impeccable customer service to the mouthwatering food, every aspect of our visit exceeded expectations. If you're in search of soulful and delicious cuisine served with a side of genuine care and hospitality, look no further than A Taste of Heaven.

I have been here twice, non of them disappointed me. One of the hidden gem in NYC. The first time I consider gate keeping it. Excellent soul food stand. The beef ribs is by far my favorite, and the oxtail was out of this world. Such a shame it's only available on Friday. As for the side, definitely go for the candied yam and Mac & cheese, you won't regret. The complementary corn bread is a great dessert with fluffy texture. Small but warm stand without indoor seating. There are couple of outdoor tables which I took good use every time. Expecting waiting time around 15 min if it is peak time.

We stumbled into this place around lunch time on a Thursday. It was funny that they actually have a doorman (wait I know I'm in hipster-land, Door-person is prob pc)controlling the crowds. We waited about 15 months until til we were granted access. It's a small place without any interior tables so the crowd control made sense. My co-worker and I both grabbed a small lunch plate (1 meat, 2 sides $13), he got the Jack Daniels chicken w/ collard greens and mac and cheese. I got jerk ribs w/ mac and cheese and rice and beans. We managed to grab an exterior table and we dug in. Boy oh boy was is all so good. My ribs were nose running soicy and tender. The best compliment I can give to the sides is I couldn't stop eating them. I had to pull myself away. Same goes for my co-worker, his chicken looked tender and flavorful. He too couldn't stop eating. Great service, all was delish, give it a try.
